the boy with the broken stomach
“It's not every day you get a chance to meet new people and make friends and have a headache at the same time.”

Since my second week stay on my new apartment, I have had trouble staying there. The deafening silence fires my wild imagination and paranoia. I was very lonely for several days, because you don’t sleep in a twin size bed alone and expect to be alright. I was like a patient in a mental hospital confined to a room of white walls and pink cabinets.

All changed last Tuesday up until yesterday. The apartment that was once dull and boring was filled with a pleasant atmosphere. Four new friends came to stay, to make me happy (and sometimes stressed). They were like a Christmas gift to me.I had to help and train them for our project and it was like a package deal.

We were like orphans in a foster home. We eat and sleep (but not shower) together. Never the less it was a nice experience, to pear head this little monsters to be better programmers. I was able to share to them what I know, and I was able to learn from them as well. It was truly a new and enjoyable experience that I will never forget.

"The moon's bleeding tonight!"

Last June the world experienced the full lunar eclipse on some countries but not here. Tonight the Philippines is lucky enough to witness this magnificent night show. It's the second lunar eclipse of the year.  Are these really signs from the heavens?

These are very rare astrological phenomenons to happen very frequent in the year before the so called "doomsday", 2012. Not to mention the Super Moon last March. Sometimes I wonder why all of these are happening. Is this really is it?

The moon is currently red as it is on the greatest eclipse starting 10:31 P.M. When the clock strikes 12:17 A.M. it will go partial eclipse and concludes the penumbral eclipse on 1:30 A.M. The next lunar eclipse will happen on 2014 so don't miss this rare opportunity to see the moon. Who knows if will be able to see this again after 2012. Go outside and see the moon turn red!

"I wanna be an Eskimo. Eskimo. Eskimo. I wanna be an Eskimo. Es es. Ki ki mo!"

Most Filipinos, especially the younger generation wanted to be an artista. They all want to be seen on television. You know, to be sikat and experience all of the glitz and glamour of Philippine show business. Enjoy getting linked to co-stars, being blind-itemed, doing concert tours and my favorite part, endorsing products. The best perk an artista could possibly have. Then one day someone just offered me to be one. Funny yet exciting.

When I was kid, I never really wanted to be an artista like any other kids. The only thing I have in mind is to be an endorser. I loved promoting products. Making people believe it actually woks or tastes delicious. Experience the product first hand and influence the public what to buy, that’s what I dreamed to do. And you would notice lately in the blog posts, I’m promoting foods and beverages. I don’t get a single dime from those posts. I just really wanted to share you the things I think is good and hoping you might too.

Mang Inasal’s chicken tastes good but not the extra rice. McDonald’s burgers are epic win but not their crews are epic fail. Coke zero is delicious but the aspartate in it is dangerous to your health. The major difference of me from television endorsers is I don’t give false advertisement or hidden charges. I’m just telling you what I think is real when you pay your groceries on the counter. So do you still want to be an artista?

Krabby Patty?
“I love burgers, just as much as I love other foods!”

100% Beef and a helping of cheese. Simple, quality ingredients only bettered by adding like onion, pickles, tomato ketchup and mustard in a sesame seed bun.

No it’s not Krabby Patty! It’s mighty simple Quarter Pounder with Cheese, a McDonald’s burger.
Quarter Pounder with Cheese
 & Monster Float

With a wide array of burgers McDonald’s is offering, from Burger Mcdo to Big Mac, I found this juicy and yummy tuck: Quarter Pounder with Cheese. Encased into a yellow colored carton box, unfolds this wonderful nourishment that you’d take by mistake, came from Bikini Bottom. The soft bun hugging tender patty, crunchy veggie and tasteful sauces is a perfect package. With such perfection, you’ll have a second thought if this is real. Good thing it is!

For only Php 135 you can enjoy this value meal, accompanied by soda and french fries; if you’re a Coke Float addict, you only need to add Php 18 to enjoy the towering Monster Float. All of these for an incredible low price of Php 153 only! Like Kris Aquino says: ‘You get more than you pay for. It’s sulit!’ So what are you waiting for? Grab this amazing snack. Try it now!

“I laaabyuuuuuuuuu Piolo!”

Could KC Concepcion still say these words, after their confirmed break up from his oh-so-hot- alleged –gay boyfriend Piolo Pascual? Is this really the end of their fairytale love story?

I was not really a fan of either KC Concepcion or Piolo Pascual; my grandma has a crush on Papa P though. But to hear their break up, I felt sad (a little) for KC. She’s like this perfect sweet girl with a kind heart. How could he possibly break up with her?

Reading the transcript on PEP about Boy Abunda’s interview with KC gave me some insights. KC indirectly stated the true sexuality of Piolo. With her statement like: "May mga hinahanap ako na basic lang na hahanapin ng isang babae sa isang boyfriend, sa isang lalaki.” All is clear now. Piolo’s gay!

KC’s having a hard time now. She’s the average dreamer and a true escapist, always expecting a happy ending. Maybe she’s watching too many movies and I think she should grow up and stop pretending. It does not going to be a pathway full of roses leading to a sunset view. With the one you’ve dream of waits, because now it’s not like the movies at all. Woo… oh… Ohh…

"Bon appetit"

We all love food. There’s always an enough room in our hearts and ample space in our tummy for delicious delicacies. Whether is a fancy restaurant or a plain eatery we always have this craving for that one specific dish. And in my case I found my piece of heaven with Lumpiang Sariwa (fresh spring rolls) from a local eatery in my hometown for only Php 25.

I still have these vivid memories of my childhood. Those blue walls of that canteen inside the public market of Balayan, Batangas;the savory yet affordable dishes from the wooden menu hanging on the ceiling of Yolly Magundayao Canteen (YMC). The menu includes spaghetti, pancit palabok, iced tea, halo-halo, sandwiches and many more. It was like a fast food but not really fast. After you order, you’ll be given a number and wait for a few minutes for the food. Well it’s worth the wait when you finally get your order. You’ll dig in this bountiful meal like you’re eating food for the gods.

So what do I get from all of these flowery words? None. I just wanted to share to you this and help the local businesses in Balayan. May the new public market be open for the real “public”; because I have always been at doubt to my mom and her co-teacher’s jazz chant: “Yes we feel we’re free!”

“Let’s have a coffee friend!”

Coffee is like an energy drink to me; it makes me feel high. It gives me the outburst of thoughts to make a decent blog post. What are the effects of coffee to you?

A day could not be complete without a soothing cup of coffee (or in my case a mug of coffee). It’s a good way to warm up your tummy and awaken your senses. Sometimes I can make it up until lunch with just coffee. Coffee is like water to me.

There are a lot of types of coffee and several ways to prepare it. Some prefer the complex one but I like instant coffees. There are several coffees available and it’s really up to you to choose your own poison. I mean potion.

So how do you start a day with this nice blend of coffee? First, you pour the sachet’s contents into a cup. Add 150 cc of hot water. Stir well. And it’s ready to be served.

If you would ask me what’s in my cup, it’s the “More in 1 KOPIKO Brown Coffee”. You read it right; more in 1, because it has coffee mix plus brown sugar. Enjoy this oozing piece of heaven for only Php 6.00. Take a sip now!

“The beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”

My face was like a Halloween mask you can’t remove. Is it a curse from a wicked witch or just the consequence of heredity?

When I was in high school, I started suffering the side effects of puberty. I never had a chance to skip having pimples.

I tried several beauty products, regime and ritual, but none of them worked. I tried and tried but never succeed. But one day something happened. After college everything changed. It was like peaceful breeze after a holocaust. Slowly my faced improved like magic. It started to have this certain glow.

Now you’ll wonder what my secret is. All of this was made possible by Cd-R-King Lasher 10-LED Light.

“Forever is just the beginning.”

The twilight fever is on again and it starts with a bang! Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I is now showing in almost every movie house you known; opening us again to the wonderful world of vampires, werewolves and eternal love.

The movie started opening on cinemas yesterday but I decided not to with the flow, to avoid the peak of twi-hard fans who wanted the see the movie on the first day. Second isn’t bad at all; not to mention the most endeared stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner that all twi-hard fans are drooling about.

I have read the four books and was still surprised every time I get to see each movie; especially this one. The wedding drama, the lovely bed scenes, the bloody delivery and the werewolves fight, are all well-crafted. Although there were inconsistencies, I loved variations. I would like to commend the wretch bed every time Edward and Bella make love. Also Bella drinking blood like a slurpee, which she tells “tastes good”. And the last scene where Bella heals and opens her crimson eyes, giving me a heart attack.

Whether you’re Team Edward or Team Jacob (or Team Building), I know you’re also excited to see this film so don’t dare miss it. Grab yourself a ticket and bite into the Twilight universe! See Bella Swan a.k.a “woman on top”, do her thingy and teach you how to dougie.

“Ma, si Leo Martinez!”

It’s November 1, late afternoon, I decided to go to my father’s grave and pay my respect; commemorate my relatives like the rest of the people inside the cemetery. During this day, the cemetery is like a carnival, well lit. You’ll see kids collecting the dripping of candle to make wax ball. People from different social standing are here.

It’s not every day you get to see Leo Martinez. I saw him live and alive. I’ve almost forgot that the Martinez’s lives in our beautiful town of Balayan, Batangas. I was star-strucked to see a celebrity inside the cemetery; to all the places I didn’t expected he would be there.

Like any other Filipino who would see a showbiz personality, the encounter would not be complete without a souvenir picture. But how is that possible, when Leo Martinez is from afar talking to somebody. It would be very difficult. Well thank you to my mom, she actually did the move. “Excuse sir, this is my son and he’s a fan of yours. Is it alright to take pictures with you?” just like that. We took pictures while my shoulder blades are underneath his warm armpit. Kilig to the bones.

"Reunion, a thing you always look forward every five years."

It's been like five years when we last saw each other (or most of us). After our graduation rites in high school (that I could hardly remember when), we never had enough time to see each other, make ourselves drunk and reminisce. It was like a chance of a lifetime to see them again; see them in different sizes and colors.

High school friends, could possibly be the nearest set of friends that we might consider as our best friends. They are people closest to our hearts who have been there during our puberty. Your girl friends who has been there when you had your first monthly period. Your dudes and bro's who has been there when you first tasted the glory of alcohol and adult magazine. We shared so many memories with them, that even for so how many years we can't still move one with their green jokes and sanga-sangang pag-ibig (intersecting love). I had a hard time writing this post, because it's hard to for me to type with misty eye.

This experience is very heart warming. The food, the drinks, the memories. I couldn't imagine that we reached this far. I will definitely miss you guys and I'm looking forward to have another reunion. For those who weren't able to attend, envy to death because we enjoyed it. Ulit-ulitan!

"I'm back! The boy with the broken stomach."

It's like a week that I haven't blogged something; and the reason why, because Google just blocked all my accounts. What a sham! Blogger. Youtube. Gmail. Google Plus. Having several accounts in one company, just like Google, is like putting your entire life in danger.

Without prior notice, I just woke up one day my "accounts" were blocked. Telling me I have violated some piece of crap from a long list of legal issues; from pornography to copyright issues and some stupid things. And I was like, fine!

A week without my blog is like a week of vacation. Freeing myself from mental occupancy of blogging and updating those who care about my life, while Google is acting pervert. This made me realize things. I became productive, meeting requirements at work just in the nick of time. Plus I get to enjoy eating, watching and reading news without having to worry how will I blog them.

And today, after trying to check FeedBurner, I was redirected to my Gmail and asking me to login. I tried and poof (it became…nah, not KoKo Krunch ), inbox loading! Is this how Google celebrate Halloween? Is this trick or treat? They’ll block your account without telling you why and having it back without you telling why again. Isn’t that annoying?

"A shirt gets dirty. Underwear gets dirty. But a pants, it never gets dirty. You can wear them forever."

Maong pants (blue jeans) have been always a part of Filipino daily clothing. To any public place, it is very common to see people wearing this. Young and old. Ladies and gents. In all color and shape, you’d take by mistake that this is our national costume.

Having a decent pair of maong is a necessity. Whether you’re the simple type or always on the go, you’ll never get wrong with Maong pants. It is very comfy and practical. Not to mention the many ways of wearing it. You can wear it neat and ironed or you can wear it like a rug. We call it the “gula-gulanit” type. This style of pants is so unique and safe, people around won’t be able to tell if it’s a design or you just trip-off the bakod.

Unlike any other clothing, maong pants have no social stratification. Rich kids wear it. Snatchers wear it. Priests wear it. Everybody wears it, as in. And after reading this post, you’ll get paranoid next time you go to the mall. You’ll realize that every person you’ll see are wearing maong pants, like zombies.

Bagung-bago.  Mainit-init pa!

“YouTube is officially launched in the Philippines! Stay tuned as the Philippines YouTube community shares its amazing creativity,” says YouTube.

It’s official Youtube Philippines is launched today! Welcoming our fellow Filipino, with a dashing jeepney on the site’s logo. It’s amazing how we Filipino have been contributing to the World Wide Web. Not to mention the recent project of Twitter in Filipino and now YouTube Philippines. Also us being coined as the “social networking capital of the world”, it is not surprising that these big internet companies are doing everything to capture a wider set of audience.

Youtube has done so much to us. It gave opportunities to our Filipino talents to be discovered. We have Charice Pempengco, Arnel Pineda, Maria Aragon and so much more. Youtube Philippines is certainly a good decision the company did. It will surely open new opportunities, not only to them but to our country as well. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!

"Extra Rice pa po Sir? "

I love Mang Inasal, especially their PM 1 Meal which consists of a tasteful Chicken Barbacue or Inasal and unlimited rice. Yes you heard it right unlimited rice, for only 99 Pesos. It’s the best inasal in town and they are definitely the “Home of Real Pinoy Style Barbecue”.

Mang Inasal just recently introduced a new product to people who loves spicy food. The New PM 1.5 Spicy Paa, that comes with an unlimited rice deal. Bursting in hot flavorful chicken barbecue and steaming rice, you’ll definitely get hooked and want more. For a very affordable price of 99 pesos also.

As a Filipino a meal will not be complete without rice and eating in a restaurant that offers bountiful rice servings is like heaven here on earth. Sky’s the limit or until your tummy explodes. I usually image Mang Inasal having a paramedic beside the counter. So customers will have a helping hand when they go beyond the limit of their stomach. Another thing I like about Mang Inasal is their flavorful soup. It tastes just like a real sinigang (with a lot of preservatives and additives, very addicting). So next time you go outside to eat, look for Mang Inasal and combat with gluttony. Sasabog ang tiyan mo sa sarap!

"It takes two to tango."

It's been  four months and a day and  my life has changed so drastically. I never imagined that in a short period of time I would experience all of these. From the first pay day to the budol-budol incident to the sleepless night just to make sure you get the deliverable on time. Life after college is way better that anything else. And I love my single-hood.

Every Sunday evening I go to the nearby mall on our place. Eat dinner at my favorite restaurant Mang Inasal and combat with gluttony. Whenever I have time I try to watch movie (and pretend I have a girlfriend). Over the past few months I have never been engaged to anything romantic, not even close to flirting. Due to the nature of my work, lifestyle and attitude it seems being single is the best deal I have. You don’t need to call your girlfriend just to check where she is. You don’t need to remember dates of your dates. You don’t need to feed an extra mouth every pay day. Life is much simpler. But I'm always looking forward to someone who would care for me and make me happy.

AKO BUDOY hits twitter trends just like that.Awed. Surprised. Delighted.

Bruno Mars (@BruroMars)and Katy Perry (@katvperry)  tweeted    (appears to be fake) about AKO BUDOY, and is trending worldwide. Another hit from a pilot episode from a new television show at ABS-CBN. I could still remember when 100 Days to Heaven first aired. It also reached the worldwide trending. Other twitter users thought it’s one hundred days before the end of the world.

Budoy Ako, starring Gerald Anderson(@gerald3anderson). According to Wikipedia:

The story is about a well-renowned family of doctors, the Maniegos. Bound to success but with no child, Dr. Anton Maniego performed an artificial insemination to his wife Luisa. She give birth to their child "Budoy." Upon Budoy's birth is a family blessing but later on turns into the family in shame when they discover that Budoy is suffering from Angelman syndrome, which delays his intellectual development

I wasn’t able to watch it but I bet it’s good.Congratulations Gerald! Thumbs up to ABS-CBN for a job well done. And also to our fellow Filipino twitter users who made AKO BUDOY trend worldwide. It just simply proves that Filipinos are super madaldal, in any form of communication media. Whether we are using our beautiful voices or our oh so good tweets. Mabuhay ang ibong tiririt!

“What the f*ck? I’m Dave!”

If you were to change something in your life, what would it be? Would you even dare change anything? Be careful of what you wish for, you might just get it.

The Change Up, an American comedy directed by David Dobkin starring Ryan Reynolds (Green Lantern) and Jason Bateman (Horrible Bosses). The story is about a married father, Dave Lockwood that accidentally switched to his bachelor / hunk stud best friend, Mitch Planko and their complex difficulties after. The switch was made when the peed on a magical fountain not knowing that their wish of switching lives would come true. The next morning when they woke up, they had each other’s life exchanged.

Having children is like living with mini heroin addicts. They're laughing one minute, crying the next, and then they're trying to kill themselves in the bathtub for no reason.”, because kids are like little monster. There was a funny scene where Dave’s baby squirted poop on his mouth and my stomach was rumbling after.

One thing I like about this movie is its simplicity. No super powers. No special effects. Just the juicy story. You get to enjoy the characters lives without being distracted on the movie magic. Not to mention the witty scenes and wonderful lines the actors brought through. Watch it now and try something new for a change up!

For richer or for poorer.

A native Filipino house will never be complete with the famous, tungkong uling. It’s a device that uses charcoal or drift wood to cook. The elders would always tell that dishes would tastes better using the tungkong uling. It cooks slowly but surely, allowing the flavors to come out evenly. A taste of a true native dish, from the melting pot.

Here in the Philippines, rice is always part of every meal. And it would make it more special if you put pandan leaves on it during the cooking process until mainin. Some would put eggplant on top of the steaming rice that serves as a dish. Although this is a simple meal, a typical Filipino family, especially on the barrios would definitely enjoy. Not to mention the Filipino custom of eating using our bear hands or nakakamay. It’s far better than a spoonful, because a hand can carry more amount of food in a single stroke. After your meal, you not only get a full stomach but a heart filled with love from dishes made special by the tungkong uling. Only in the Philippines!

Nothing beats the (Magnolia Ice Cream) Classic.

After watching No Other Woman yesterday and did a movie review and seeing good traffic on my Nuffnang account, I decided to reward myself.

My guilty pleasure is ice cream. I love ice cream and I can eat a lot of them until my stomach burst. Ice cream has always made me feel better, brighter and full. It’s like magic. Just few spoonfuls and all your worries will fade away.

When I was a kid, every afternoon I’ll go outside our house waiting for the sorbetero (ice cream man in the Philipppines). He’s carrying this vessel on his sidecar containing all the joyous ice cream in the world. As a kid, few scoops sorbetes in a sugar cone is like a piece of heaven on earth.

I have tried several ice creams. Most of the time I buy Selecta Family Pack; but 800 ml is too big for my appetite. I end up throwing the melted ice cream and wasting it. Then I found Magnolia Ice Cream Classic 425 ml for only 65 pesos, just the right size for both my tummy and my pocket. There were several flavors, I tried the strawberry and it tastes so good. It melts in your mouth like a fresh pick berry on the high lands of Baguio City (if I’m overreacting). It was a wonderful and flavorful experience! You’ll definitely scream for ice cream.

“Ang mundo ay isang malaking Quiapo, maraming snatcher, maagawan ka, lumaban ka!”

I have no plans of watching this movie. I never even thought of wasting my time just to watch a local love story. But I can hear so many people talking about it, reading good reviews and seeing signs that it’s a must-see movie. So I decided to give a try. I was ten minutes late and not actually decided; but then again the urge to watch this movie became strong.

I entered the movie house, arrived at the scene where Anne Curtis fell from the jet ski to the water losing her bikini top and asking Derek Ramsey to put it on, “I hope you don’t mind” (such a flirt). I could hardly recall other details. One thing I was looking forward was the Carmi Martin scene, the one with Gretchen Barretto and Lucy Torres. After hearing her delivered it I was awed, and honestly I was impressed with Cristine Reyes. She’s improving. All the crying and gooey stuff coming out from her nose, love it.

They say it’s an adult movie, 13 and above only. I don’t know if this would make me feel good or bad, but they actually let me in. For that I congratulate myself for looking like (14 year old) an adult already. The love scenes where fantastic, in such a way it doesn’t look like cheap or obscene. It just so happen that the love scene on the beach, where Ann and Derek rolled in the sand, reminded me of a tv commercial, “Dilang masarap, malinamnamnamnam”. Watch it now!

Steve Jobs has been a visionary, an innovator and a great person that will be forever be remember by the world. With his impact to the society and remarkable ideas, you will be missed.

Over the years, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs has been both competitors and friends. And it is not surprising to hear Bill's condolences to Mr. Jobs. Bill Gates' status update on his Facebook Fan Page:

"I’m truly saddened to learn of Steve Jobs’ death. Melinda and I extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends, and to everyone Steve has touched through his work.
Steve and I first met nearly 30 years ago, and have been colleagues, competitors and friends over the course of more than half our lives.
The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come.
For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely."

Power Ranger Pink!
Power Ranger Blue!
Power Ranger Black!
Power Ranger Yellow!
Power Ranger Red!

When I was a little kid, I used to watch several television series. During the 90’s until the early 2000’s Power Rangers has been a big hit. There came a time where you’ll here every child saying, “Go go Power Rangers!” and each having their designated color. Some of my friends even both a Power Morphers, that one with a coin slot.

The best Power Ranger series I watched was the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, aired during the mid-1990’s here in the Philippines. Every time I go home, I’ll rush on our living room and tune in with them, like I can live without food and water just to watch them. And because there are no streaming videos on the internet for replays during that time, missing one episode is like missing half of your life. When you go to school all your classmates will talk about that last episode while you envy to death.

After that series the television networks thought of offering other versions of Power Rangers. Power Ranger Ninja Storm. Power Ranger Wild Force. Power Ranger Extra Rice. And it was like watching copy cats in combat. Everything was ruined. It’s no longer about children entertainment, but a lame business. How I wish the Power Ranger come here and their Megazord, to save the Philippine television (and the government).

Are you’re a busy person? Always on the go but having a hard time where to go next. Well an assistant would be helpful. But real world assistant has limitation, most of the time she gets stubborn and lazy. I guess you don’t need someone. You need something.

I’m always fascinated to iPhone Technology. With all the innovation and surprises, I just can’t think of anything else. But then came Siri. The intelligent assistant that helps you get things done. All you have to do is ask. You can talk to her like a normal person. Ask here things and she would do it for you without complain. Siri understands what you say (as long as it’s not gibberish) and selects the appropriate apps you need for your request.

And someone would ask (or gets intimidated), "Why is she so intelligent?" She’s the most amazing iPhone yet, because she’s running in a Dual-core A5 chip. She makes sure you get to quality experience when you browse the web, going from app to app and doing just about everything. Having Siri on iPhone 4S is like having a loyal assistant you can count on (even in the middle of the night). Share this with your friends and your godparents; they might just give you one this Christmas.

I’m size six!

Filipinos are thoughtful. Whenever we go somewhere We would always find ways to bring something to our loved ones when we get back. We call it pasalubong. Even if it’s a simple key chain, chichiria, shirt or Converse shoes would mean a lot to the recipient.

When I was a kid and my mom goes to the market I always tell her to bring a pasalubong when she gets back. And even on a tight budget she will still have something when she returns. This is how loving and caring Filipinos are. We always make sure, we make the people closest to our heart to be happy.

To all my relatives, friends, godparents and acquaintances abroad, let me take this opportunity to tell you how much care for you (and your balik-bayan box). I know it’s hard to be away; but wouldn’t it be nice to be here in Christmas with all your loved ones waiting (for all the chocolates, perfume, shirts, shoes, and cash). We missed you here in the Philppines!

Love is blind.

Gayuma or Love Potion is a concoction that is believed to influence the feelings of your victim. This is usually made of several herbs and special fluids accompanied by a magical ritual to have a potent effect. But sometimes all these flowery words are not true. Love potions can be done is a simple yet effective way. Nothing spectacular.

NOTE: You may want to check out this to make him desire you!

When I was in High School, summer of 2005 I went to Cavite to have a vacation with my cousins. And my journey to discovering the art of witchcraft started there. There was no old wicked witch living in there, just bountiful resources and of course the internet. I was able to collect several information about the how-to’s of magic and I would like to share it with you!

There’ll be series of tutorial giving insights and procedure for you to try. But a piece of advice not all of the spells I’ll be sharing would work for you because we are all different. Some might work for you and others won’t, so be patient and enjoy.

For our first spell, we’ll make your own gayuma. And as I promised you don’t need to gather herbs you don’t know where to find, all you need are simple ingredients. Collect things that you think can be linked to love. Something sweet, red and juicy like apples, wine, strawberry juice and the like. Now brew them on a bowl on Friday night. Stir them while thinking the one you love and recite the spell below (taken from EverythingUnderTheMoon.net)for several times. You can do it alone or you can do it with your friends (preferably three persons).

Love Potion, cauldron brew. Now be charged with magick true With intent I speak this charm. All be blessed, and none be harmed. Ever minding the law of three. As my will so mote it be.
After doing the ritual, find a way for your lover to drink it.Good luck! Blessed be.

P.S. Check this one to make him desire you.

Trick or Treat!

It’s spooky time again. It’s the time of the year where you get experience the horror and thrill of Halloween. All the scary stories, whether it’s real or made up, people want it to hear. Especially here in the Philippines, myths and superstitious beliefs is always a part of our daily life.

During my early childhood, I usually watch scary movies and hear strange stories. Most of them are folk lore of supernatural creature endemic to the Philippines, like aswang, kapre, tikbalang, manananggal, tiyanak and many more. And for naughty kids who don’t want to sleep early, parents have this handy-dandy mumu. Mumu is a fictional entity used by Filipino parents to discipline their child. No kid has ever seen this creature; but from the gravity and tone of their mother, its sure is horrifying.

Although these are fictitious entity engineered to scare the lame Filipino kids, it’s a good way also of not excreting too much effort disciplining them. During this time of year, kids tend to go home earlier, just before it gets dark. Because they believed that the mumu is lurking somewhere and might eat them. And isn’t it funny, we all share these childhood memories, “Takot ako sa mumu!”

So you can bet that mornings are better than ever only at McDonalds.

After a long night of combating to those nerve cracking programming session I decided to have my breakfast at McDonalds here at Balayan, our simple town far from the hassle and stress of work. I am enjoying the last few days of my vacation and looking for an extension.

It’s a nice way to start your day ahead with the delicious breakfast; but nothing luxurious, just a neat day starter meal. Fluffy hot cakes melting those premium anchor butter plus the syrup drippings and a cup of steaming Arabic coffee. What else could you asked for? Not to mention the free WiFi to keep you connected while enjoying your simple sanctuary.

Simple things like this always make me enjoy my day more. You get to see different people. Business partners having a coffee meeting, an early bird students, a mom from jogging, an old lady from an morning mass and a droopy programmer from an overnight. You also get to enjoy the wonderful playlist prepared by the invisible McDonald Dj. Happy morning everyone!

BREAKING NEWS:
A truck hits a jeepney shattering the lighter vehicle. Glasses and pieces of metal was all over the highway. There were no casualties (or might have, no one knows).

I just arrived from Manila after having a late dinner, and an early celebration for my birthday. We arrived at my dorm around 10:30 pm and was waiting for my landlord to open the gate. While I was waiting, suddenly a truck came speeding hitting a jeepney. Good thing we were in the sidewalk and luckily wasn't affected by the collision. The incident was so swift that in mere seconds both of the vehicles were away. Quick enough before the entire neighborhood came out of their houses to make tsimis.
All happened so fast. We are like few meters from the spot.Thanked God we weren't any closer to the highway and arrived much earlier or we could have made a bigger disaster. God is great! Thank you for keeping me alive for my birthday.

What a beautiful morning!

I dreamed I was in a swimming pool, enjoying the sun and the cool water splash. The experience was like heaven until I woke up. Shoot! The ceiling’s dripping and the floor's wet. It was the true definition of wet and wild.

Have you ever tried waking up in early in the morning surprised on what just happened around you? Having a wet floor was no good. I have to clean it and put some newspapers so it’ll dry quickly. My room looks like I’m doing an art project. Some of my clothes were wet too. And if this is my birthday gift from the skies, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

It was raining all day yesterday and there was no electricity and unluckily, NO INTERNET. Just as I suspected things will go like this. It was boredom to death that all the things I suggested on my blog post made no difference. The entire day was like a day a Forks or Narnia. It was so cold, so damp, so terrifying. I thought our roof would be ripping off anytime sooner due to the strong winds. The only thing you can do is pray that tomorrow’s another day. Having said that, do you still like surprises?

It's Raining Men! Hallelujah! It's Raining Men! Amen!

This week won’t be a good week here in the Philippines. There’s a storm signal in most parts of Luzon. Expect things will go worst like no electricity and hopefully not, NO INTERNET. But because you can read this post may I take this advantage to help you in the midst of crisis.

When it’s raining, it’s hard to stand up in your bed. Especially if the classes are suspended or your boss decided call it a day off, due to a bad weather. It is most likely that you are left in your house doing nothing (more or less just sleeping) and making yourself believe this is the best thing to do. To tell you the truth there are a lot of things you can do when it’s raining. Spend some time looking around you. Well to make yourself productive why not try to cook something, clean your room, read a book or wash your clothes. The possibilities are unlimited. This time would be perfect to do these things specially its cold and you don’t get so sweaty doing those. Take time and you’ll never get bored (or horny) again.

What happened...? Wheres the...? What the f...?

One morning when I opened my Facebook account I was shocked. Everything was changed like it's not the same old friend anymore. I don’t know if this is just because they’re just being pressured by the competition against Google Plus or they just want to make our head spin.  Facebook is updating so often as if they are changing underwear. And what else do you expect; most of the user’s are complaining. The shift was so drastic that even my mom had a hard time logging out. If they are thinking they’re doing a good job, well Mr. Zuck you are doing the opposite. Not only are you making your users mad, you’re just giving Google Plus the opportunity to take over the public.

After reading an article from a blog site I realized Facebook is planning something evil. Launching the Open Graph Beta that enables developers to create custom actions to act on objects inside the social graph is a sure win to marketing. Imagine if everything you do, get published over the network like watched a movie, bake a pie or listen to a song. Do we really need this? It’s not real time serendipity but invasion of privacy. Sometimes being useful is far relevant than being clever.

It’s like less than twenty-four hours since Mark Zuckerberg unveiled the latest updates on Facebook, booming the internet with the introduction of Timeline. It’s a whole new experience that enables rich representation of user identity over the social graph. With its clever design of a real timeline is definitely a thumb up. You can see all the things that happened in your life over the internet, as if you’re reading a history book. You can put some stories about your childhood memories way back. But since there’s no Facebook yet during 1990’s you can navigate to a desired year, (like a time machine) and add events in your life you wish to document.
.
Another cool feature is the “Cover”, a wide open space to put an image that represents you best. You can now put your favorite picture without having to use the old profile banner. Also the new profile has this status update’s categories that you can choose to best fit your life events. It includes Work and Education, Family and Relationship, Living, Health and Wellness, Milestone and Experiences. With this kind of functionality sharing would be more descriptive and relevant. You get to share things that happened in your life effortlessly.

Unfortunately to be able to see this feature, you need to take several steps to get this feature installed on your profile. You can see how it's done here. One more thing, once you try this there's no turning back, so update on your own risk. Bugs are expected. If you really want it, then get awed with this new feature and enjoy the benefit of competition. Build memories. Share a ton

Pinoy Short Orders

"Malamig ang simoy ng hangin Kay saya ng bawat damdamin"

And we are ninety-five days nearer to Christmas. Time pass so quickly and I hardly noticed its Christmas again. It’s the merriest time of the year where people celebrate the birth of Jesus. Not to mention the little kids excitedly waiting for Santa Claus.  Have you been naughty or nice?

Christmas is a time of joy and love. The house gets decorated by lights lantern and everything shinny and velvety as a sign of welcoming the season. I could still remember when I was in high school we always decorate our rooms with those metallic garland you usually see in the market here in Philippines. Students would sometimes bring a parol (Christmas lantern) for an extra grade. When I was in grade 5 we did a sewing project that looks like a poinsettia. One of my classmates told me mine looks like a rag. I pitied myself and almost cried but was surprised to see my work placed on the principal office while theirs on the janitor’s. And up to know my project still looks good and we've been using it every year.

Christmas brings me a lot of childhood memories. Unlike other kids, I have never enjoyed getting aguinaldo for most of my godparents. Most of them could not be reached and are out of coverage area. It’s a struggle of the child to see his long lost ninong and ninang, just to give them a hug (or more). What are the things you're looking forward this Christmas? Or are just hiding from your mga inaanak?

Awaaaaard!

It was more than laughter but a cackle, a crispy sound echoing inside the movie house. It was the true definition of Ultimate Laugh Out Loud, and I tell “mukha talaga akong ULOL sa sinehan.” I was laughing so loud that after do so I realized I was the only person doing that (in that kind of volume), while watching Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington.

The story is about a boy named Remington, played by Martin Escudero, who was cursed to be gay when he grows after insensitively teasing a gay man when he was a kid. He starts to experience these spine-tingling transformations every time she wakes up after being attack by an aphro-looking-monster-like entity. Not to mention being able talk in gay lingo, also known as bekinese (accompanied by a subtitle) plus #allthehahainside. Also shown in this movie, men's morning sickness. Bonner Scene.

“Hindi ko naman naiintindihan, pero ang sarap sa tenga. Gorah na akech!”

Being a widow in a rollerblades was so hideous for Eugene Domingo, like she can’t act any better. I was hoping to see more of her and was disappointed for giving her only few lines. It could have been better if she was given an ample exposure. She could play as the sidekick of Janice De Belen, and not the not-so-know-semi-bald lady in the movie (I wish not to google her). But all in all I enjoyed the movie, especially the stupid looking gaydar gun.

 Happy coding!

Just this morning, after taking my scrumptious breakfast at the  McDonald's Tanauan, I was surprised on what I saw on my  Facebook news feed. My online friend posted good news. Today Google + is launching their public API for developers who wanted to delved on the platform. And I wasn't disappointed that they also gave me an email notification telling me the same news. Isn't that cool?

The API would focused first on public data shared by people publicly on the site. The mechanics of authorization of  the app for user's installation is similar to Facebook and Twitter. Users running the app for first time will under go the new plus.me OAuth2  scope to ask who they are, as discussed on their blog post. Also, the special "me" identifier, when accessing the current user's data, might have been influence from Facebook's Platform bearing the same reserved word.

Today, I think, will definitely be the start on the raging fight between Facebook and Google Plus. By far this is the most compelling internet-warlord-battle of the decade. The Facebook platform, which gave me headaches when I was doing my thesis, versus Google Plus platform, which I am so much excited to learn. And since this is new, expect for the worst case scenario of  frequent adjustment and bugs. Be prepared for the melt down!

Life couldn’t be better than this. I’m celebrating my twenty-first birthday on September 29. I am not getting any younger but a year older; but still I don’t want to believe I’m no longer a teenager. Stupid. Like what, it’s been a year after my Twenteen birthday (still in denial). Isn’t that ridiculous?

Life is like cereals. You put milk on it. You eat it. That’s it. A dim-witted-made-up-quote but true. Sometimes we shouldn’t ask for things, we’ll get it if it’s really ours. When I was a little boy, I used to tell myself I want to get older fast so I get taller. But to my disappointment I got old but not tall. No so long ago, I wanted to graduate college so I can earn and be able to stand on my own. But to my surprise, it’s not that easy to be independent (when they started depending on you).

Living in this world two decades and a year, I found out a lot of things, made mistakes, learned so many lessons and realized that we should not rush life; because there’s a way better future ahead. Look forward and grab it like it’s the only cereal box left in the shelf.

Hook!

Poppin bottles on the ice, like a blizzard. When we drink, we do it right getting slizzard. Sippin sizzurp in my ride, in my ride, like three six. Now I’m feelin’ so fly like a C-6. Like a C-6, Like a C-6. Now now now now now now I’m feelin’ so fly like a C-6. [Like a G-6]

Bulacan-Rizal-Manila-Cavite Regional Expressway Circumferential Road 6, that’s what they call it; but to me it’s like a portal to another dimension, a bountiful escapade or you can also call it “the road less travelled by.” C-6 serves act as "a beltway of Metro Manila, so that buses and other transportation vehicles coming from the southern provinces to the northern provinces (and vice versa)". It saves you time without diving into the tedious traffic of Metro Manila, not to mention hassle of the ever road rehabilitation along the way.

To get to C-6 from SLEX, take the Bicutan Exit. You will pass through Camp Bagong Diwa and going straight (because you’re in the Philippines) you will see a “C-6-Road-Rehabiliation” tarpaulin, by then you are sure you’re taking the right direction. As you traverse the lane along Laguna De Bay, you can see the city from a far. On the side you will see fish fences, wondering ducks and home-along-the-river surroundings. Then you’ll start asking yourself, is this really a superhighway?

When you get lost, you can always find the ever helpful town’s people and asks for directions or Google for it before you start your “quest” to an unfamiliar land where you bound to battle with dragons, pass through dudgeons and meet elves to save the princess. #allthehahainside

A couple of days ago I had another close experience to the so called Badyao. They are... I don’t know to describe them. Native? Beggar? Street children? Orphan? I don't really know what the right term is.

These guys are those who get inside the jeepney making their act like a drama or drumming. But most of the time they just beg for money without excreting an effort. There are some who have planned their charade well. They'll give a piece of paper or envelope with an untidy scribble saying “Mam sir maaawa na po kayo sa Badyao,” knowing that they can’t even speak Tagalog. I even took a picture of it.I guess they got this idea from the so called “Bus-Stop Missionaries”. Missionaries from a religious group we don’t really know.

Do we really have to have pity for the Badyaos (or the bus-stop missionaries)? Is it really our fault that they have this kind of life? Why on earth would I give alms to a Badyao, when in the first place they could have worked to earn it?

In our town at Balayan, Badyao is also common;but don’t you put a bad eye on them. There are those male Badyao who is selling jewelries, mostly pearl ,and mind you these are real pearls. Well of course it would be hard for us to trust this kind of people selling these kind of accessories (in a very low price); but they would simply say “Ma’am, ang mga Badyao po ay hindi sinungaling.” This made me awed, and it is safe to say that these pearls are authentic. I could still remember one of my classmate’s mom, who has a good taste, bought one of those for only 200 pesos.

If only all badyao would be like the pearl sellers of Balayan, they could be the next Hans Brumann, and our streets will be free from wondering beggars. Sulong Pilipinas!

Jingle ber jingle ber jingle all the way...
Does it ring a ber?

Today's the first day of September and as a Filipino trademark the Christmas season has started by the so called ber months. They say that we have the longest celebration of Christmas in the world. From the September to December up to the first few weeks of January the next year.

Well, we all know it's a bit early and definitely long but this is how Christmas in the Philippines is. It doesn't only reflect our religious and rich culture but also our love for celebrations. We might not have the famous winter wonderland but we have our own warmth for this occasion.

This is the most awaited time of the year, where families bond and friend reunite to cherish the merriest holiday. Not to mention the delicious delicacies like puto bungbong and bibingka that blends with the aroma and stream from the banana leaves wrappings. You should really try this, because the proof of the pudding is in the eating. You can usually buy this outside the church after attending the simbang gabi.

Most of the attendees are people who have wishes and believe that it will be granted if they completed the nine masses. While others are lovers who thought that this is a good place to have their public display of affection(the nerves).

Christmas in the Philippines won't be complete without them and I'm sure that our fellow filipinos abroad is missing this. Specially the ninongs and ninangs who are hiding from their inaanak (like me). So what are you waiting for? Pull those old parol and dusty decors and start bringing the spirit of Christmas into your home. Santa might just visit you earlier this year.

Facebook has done so much to our lives. We get reunited to long lost friends, relatives (and even pets). Moreover, we get to share the our thoughts and feelings no way better than videos. Even if it's an original video or copied on Youtube, the reason we share it, is for our friends to experience the thrill we get watching it.

One thing I liked about waking up early in the morning is when you get so much notification after you've posted something shocking on Facebook. People will always get curious on things they thought would be good but after a while they'll think it's GREAT! Then they share it to other friends and goes viral until it reaches some point of saturation and gets bored. Now, the question is, why am I saying this? I really don't know; but if your curious enough, try to watch the video above. I think  it'll be fun and a good way to start the day, unearthing your  sleepy nerves. Good morning everyone!

Share what you really want to share. Take control.

The way we share things on Facebook will be much more controlled as they are implementing the concept similar to Google Plus. Mimicking this feature is not that bad, if there are no unlawful implications. It’s like a whole new experience, as if it’s Facebook +.

When we update our status, post a story, tag a photo or added a friend in Facebook, all of our friends see it. Do we really want that? Sometimes, we do want to share something for a specific group of friends. This would be possible for the next few days, as changes will be rolling out and enjoy Facebook more as announced in their blog posts yesterday. It is definitely a PLUS!

Tagging on post will now not be limited to your friends but anyone on Facebook. Isn’t that great? By doing this, "creates an instant link to the person’s profile and may share your post with their friends". You can also tag locations to anything like status update, photo or Wall posts.

With this new mechanics coming soon, I presume “Everyone” is excited or I might say the “Public” is excited. Facebook also did change the word “Everyone” to “Public”, on the sharing drop down menu, to correct the use of proper language. As they say “anyone can see it but not everyone will see it”. I am look forward on these changes and I pity those who deleted their Facebook account thinking Google Plus will take over the social network.
